Time for a win

The Yankees need to score runs for Rasner today, bottom line. The line up is the same with the exception of Molina. If Rasner can pitch like he did when he first got called up the Yankees should be fine.

The key to this game should be whether the Yankees can start putting together some decent at bats and they need a good start from Rasner. They have to get Beckett to throw a lot of pitches. At least more then they did for Lester.

Feel free to watch some of the videos below and leave some comments.

SUPER tough loss tonight for the yankees

Girardi held a meeting with them and was not happy. They really let Lester have his way with them and shouldn't of.

But you just have to turn the page as tough of a loss as this one was and this one was tough, extremely tough!!

Silver lining though: Cano and Melky went 2 for 3. Giese and Robertson pitched well. That is it for the positive side of things..

the Melky Situation

Melky is a 23 year old hitter and will go through slumps. I know a lot of people out there are of the opinion that the Yankees can't wait for him to come around but that is wrong. They can and having Brett Gardner will only help Melky to push him to get better. It should anyways. If not then youy send Melky down for awhile to AAA and let Gardner stay up. When Melky gets his bat going then they will have to figure something out depending on how Gardner is doing. Having 2 young CF with potential only makes them better. Melky is one of the best CF in baseball arm strength wise. Plus he makes great plays sometimes.

The rest of the lineup is going to be able to pick up for the lack of production in CF. THey need defense in CF mainly. Offense is a plus. Not every hitter needs to hit .300 on your offense.

It all goes back to what John Sterling always says "your never as good as you seem when you win and your never as bad as you seem when you lose."

I hope Melky shuts up the sportswriters with a big game though tonight.

Thats my stand on the Melky situation.

Yankees are just 4 games back of the Red Sox

Pettitte vs. Lester today at 7:00 P.M.

GO YANKS!!

Gardner played well in CF with a stolen base and his first big league hit.

Hopefully Melky can get his bat going and they can have one of the strongest outfields they have had in awhile. Especially including Matsui who is on the DL right now.

Line Up Update and other stuff

Brett Gardner IN CF!!

It is probably for the best right now until Melky can get his bat going anyways.

Remember vote for Johnny Damon or Bobby Abreu for the last spot in the All Star Game.

Key player(s) of the game:

Ponson and Jeter who is back in the line up.

Inside the Pinstripes

Welcome to the first blog of Inside the Pinstripes. I will try to keep this blog as updated as possible.

Now before we jump on Girardi for not bunting with Cabrera with a man on and outs. Remember what John Sterling always says your never as good as you seem when you win and your never as bad as seem when you lose.

The Yankees are pitching well right now and that is a good sign. Sooner or later, hopefully sooner, the bats will come around and they can get some winning streaks together.

Also, I believe now that Peter Abraham has been right over at yankees.lhblogs.com when he says the Yanks need to do something about Cabrera and his dropping batting average. I like Cabrera but he has to start hitting if he wants to stay in the lineup. Pete says the Yankees should give Brett Gardner a chance to play everyday and you know what. I agree. Gardner is supposed to be a hard nosed type ball player who is something like a Lenny Dykstra I have heard. Plus the guy had 25 stolen bases in 62 games at AAA Scranton.

There is also another kid down in AAA named Matt Carson who is 25 and hitting .322 with 38 hits in 33 games. But I think they want to give him some more time since he started the year at AA Trenton. So there are options out there.

Also it is not a sin to let Melky go back down to AAA to work out his problems offensively down there. It might do him some good and make him work harder, not that he doesn't work hard.

Anyways that is it for now but i will be back with more stuff today about the Yankees.

stay tuned and don't forget to bookmark this blog.

Thanks!
